IBC announced that the in-person IBC2021 event has been canceled. The move follows growing concerns about the COVID-19 situation in The Netherlands, which has deteriorated over the past weeks, and feedback from the IBC exhibitor and visitor community.
In a statement, The IBC Partnership Board made the decision in order to prevent exhibitors and visitors from traveling to The Netherland for the event which was due to take place on December 3-6 at The RAI in Amsterdam.
IBC is the world’s most influential media, entertainment, and technology show with six leading international bodies being the owners behind IBC, representing both exhibitors and visitors.
IBC2021 plan was to bring the content and technology industry together again to discover the future of media and do business face-to-face and also be the leading way in a new era of hybrid events, enabling the industry to gather again for the first time in a while in a specially created safe environment that people could trust.
However, IBC2021 is now said to be focussing on bringing the content and technology community together via IBC Digital which will offer exclusive content, the opportunity to meet exhibitors and see the new products they have to offer.
