NRG radio has revealed another Radio station, FunX which will be accessible on 91.3FM. FunX is aimed to target a modern, fun-loving teen and represents the new centennial audience. Broadcasting from different urban cities in Kenya, this radio station offers a multi-platform experience, aiming to benefit the youth, with a variety of modern, fun and adventurous programs and presenters. The station has revealed that the music, which will be aired on the station will be the epitome of edgy, fun and adventurous.
In shaping the future of entertainment, NRG Radio settled on Jamiro Broadcast to supply and Install a turnkey transmission system on its new broadcasting facility. This would result in shaping the future of Entertainment by connecting consumers with High-quality and Personalized content via Internet, Mobile, Film, Sound, Print and Cross-Media in all possible forms of distribution. The consumers’ needs are at the core of the choices we make for all our brands which span Visual Radio, TV and Digital Platforms.
The solution was delivered in a Months’ time by building a purely music station consisting of:
INSOFT Radio: A cloud-based radio playout and automation
software aimed at reducing the CAPEX costs by 75%. The
hosted playout server is accessible from any device:
Tablets, laptops, iOS, Mac, Windows, Android which give
the user the freedom and flexibility to work from anywhere
with internet access.
Digital IP STL: Our Wireless, Duplex, Multichannel, Long
range IP STL system is designed to transport real time MPX
with RDS or L/R signal from studio to transmitter on a
Digital Microwave.
2x5kW FM Star Point Combiner with triple cavity filters:
Two FM Frequencies (91.3 Mhz and 97.1 Mhz) needed to share
the installed antenna system which comprise of 8-Bay
Broadband Circular with 9.3 dB, capable of handling up to
12 KW of power.
Power Distribution and Control Board: A transmission chain
with 2x 5KW FM transmitters require highly skilled
technical engineer with vast knowledge on industrial power
requirements. At Jamiro Broadcast, we design, fabricate
and install custom made power boards required for
industrial power supply for the transmitters.
20KVA UPS & 25 KVA AVR: Delivering clean-power is our
major concern for a sustainable FM transmissionchain. We
achieve this by having an AVR connected to the mains and
UPS supplying the load. Our power distribution and control
board interface the UPS and AVR by having the Change-over
and By-pass switches in one enclosure.
The installation was completed in April 01, 2020 and the project was successfully commissioned.
